Checklist before you send a tech pack to a factory

3 min read

Run through this list before a tech pack leaves your desk. Each item is a question a factory would otherwise have to ask.

  1. Style number, season, buyer and revision are filled in and match the file name.
  2. Front and back flats are present and match the measurements.
  3. Every POM has a code, a description, how to measure and a tolerance.
  4. The size run is graded, and any grade break is intended.
  5. The measurement diagram letters match the POM table codes.
  6. Fabric composition, weight and colourways are stated.
  7. The BOM lists thread, main label, size label, care label, hang tag, polybag and carton.
  8. Every BOM line has a consumption per piece.
  9. Construction lists every operation with stitch type and SPI.
  10. Artwork has a size and a placement measured from a fixed point.
  11. Labels, folding and carton assortment are described.
  12. The revision log says what changed since the last version.

The studio's audit checks most of this automatically and links you straight to anything missing.

Make this faster in the studio. Tech Pack Studio loads standard POMs, tolerances and grade rules for 42 garments and draws the flats from them. Start free.
